Virtual Stander Symposium on April 22

Virtual Stander Symposium on April 22

March 25, 2020

With the extension of online education through the end of Spring term, the Stander Symposium will not be conducted in person, and the keynote address has been canceled. However, given the special place that the Stander Symposium has in the academic life of our campus, the Stander Symposium program committee is planning ways to offer an exclusively virtual Stander Symposium on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. In order to convene a virtual symposium, classes will not be held that day. In the coming days, the program committee will provide options for facilitating the Stander presentation formats online. We feel that it is important to continue to enable our students to share and showcase their mentored academic work, notwithstanding the pandemic.

Consequently, we are extending the deadline to submit projects to Friday, April 3, 2020, at 11:59 p.m.

Those who feel they need to opt-out of the symposium, due to the unexpected pressures on this semester, should visit the Stander Symposium tab in Porches where they can view student submissions. To remove a project from the symposium click “discard” under the project title.

If you have suggestions or additional questions about the virtual Stander, please contact the Stander Coordinator at stander@udayton.edu. Additional information will follow soon.
