Leaves of Absence for Faculty
Leaves of Absence for Faculty
Leaves of absence for faculty are coordinated by this office working with the dean, department chair, and the Department of Human Resources. Any extended faculty leave must be reported and documented according to UD's policy. Some leaves are required for medical conditions, but faculty also request leaves for visiting positions or fellowship or scholarship opportunities. Additionally faculty are sometimes granted personal leaves without pay on a case by case basis but generally will require the employee to have completed one year of service before it will be granted. The University of Dayton reserves the right to terminate the employee from the University if the employee receives unapproved payment for employment outside his/her normal University employment during an approved personal leave of absence.
