Events, gatherings and travel risk assessment

It is important to reflect on personal choices when considering events, gatherings and travel. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has helpful information on safe and low risk holiday celebrations and gatherings planning, considerations for events and gatherings and travel during COVID.

The following assessment tool provides guidance in assessing the risk of attending events and gatherings, or personal travel upon or just prior to the return to campus. Individuals should reflect on these questions and, if necessary, discuss with their supervisors the option of working from home or other ways to mitigate the risk of working on campus. If you are planning travel, it is important that you follow the CDC guidelines on testing and quarantine after travel. (Travelers who have been vaccinated may follow the guidelines listed here.

Approval is not required for personal travel/events; rather, community members are encouraged to assess the risks associated with their personal holiday plans carefully and keep in mind that their personal choices can impact campus.
