Policy
According to a May 1970 Archdiocesan regulation "Priests engaged in Campus Ministry in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati have permission to assist at marriages of students, recent graduates, and faculty of their proper college provided all other requirements of church law are fulfilled."
Consequently, only current students, alumni, and current faculty and staff including their immediate family members may be married in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.
The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception is the only place where weddings are permitted on campus. Only weddings that can be approved by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati are permitted. The Director of Campus Ministry will schedule the Sacrament of Matrimony. The University Chaplain may delegate other priests to officiate at the Sacrament of Matrimony on campus. The sacrament is recorded at the local parish, Holy Angels Church.
Non-Catholic weddings in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception are permitted only with the permission of the Archbishop of Cincinnati.
Appeals to this policy should be made to the Director of Campus Ministry.
