Enrollment leadership changes

Donnell Wiggins has been named assistant vice president of recruitment and admission, effective June 1, following the departure of Rob Durkle, associate vice president and dean of admission and financial aid.

Wiggins will lead a newly formed, integrated team with members from admission and financial aid; new markets; transfer; and regional recruitment to advance recruitment and admission strategies across all domestic undergraduate enrollment channels.

Wiggins, who joined UD in 2016, has led efforts to reach new markets and increase racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, as well as international enrollment. He led the Flyer Promise Scholars program, which has a near 100% success rate, including working with University Advancement to garner more than $4.5 million to support scholars.

“Donnell consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to leadership development, collaboration, diversity, equity, and inclusion – all foundational qualities and values that will drive our ongoing success,” said Jason Reinoehl, vice president for strategic enrollment management.

Wiggins will work with five directors: Lindsey Freed, who will lead UD’s regional recruitment and admission team; Nate Perry, who will lead campus-based recruitment and admission functions; Cody McMillen, who will lead transfer and strategic partnership programs, including efforts that further develop signature programs like Flyer Promise Scholars and the UD Sinclair Academy; and Kathleen Henderson and Beverly Jenkins, who will further their long-standing leadership by supporting student success across all our enrollment channels. Additionally, to support McMillen in expanded responsibilities, Julia Thompson will become associate director of recruitment and admission and will lead the associated recruitment and admission efforts.
