University of Dayton Research Statistics

Fiscal Year 2017:

* The University of Dayton performed $135.9 million in sponsored research in fiscal year 2017.

* 88 percent performed at the Research Institute

* 12 percent performed in academic departments
* 89.1 percent of research revenue is from federal sources – DOD, DOE, EPA, NASA, etc.

* 10.9 percent of research revenue is from state & local governments, business and industry, other universities and foundations.

* 89 faculty members and 271 graduate and undergrad students were engaged in sponsored research.

*The University of Dayton Research Institute currently employs 550 full-time and part-time, benefits-eligible professional researchers, technicians and administrative staff; 193 are located in offices/labs at WPAFB (12-21-17).
