Spring Commencement

The University of Dayton will award a record 1,901 degrees during its 167th commencement spring exercises. That number eclipses the previous record for a spring commencement of 1,895 set the previous year.

Three separate ceremonies will be held at the University of Dayton Arena. The undergraduate ceremony is set for 9:45 a.m. Sunday, May 7. The law school ceremony is at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 6. And the graduate students' ceremony is at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, May 6.

A baccalaureate Mass also will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, in the UD Arena.

This will be the first spring commencement for President Eric F. Spina. He previously presided at the December 2016 commencement.

The undergraduate ceremony also marks an important milestone in the University’s fixed net-price tuition plan. The class of 2017 is the first to graduate under the plan; and the pricing clarity helped more students reach graduation and borrow less along the way.
