I Love UD
The University of Dayton community will focus on making a difference on campus and beyond during this year’s I Love UD initiative.
I Love UD, which runs Feb. 13-24, asks faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the University to give back in their local community and make a gift to support the University of Dayton Fund for Experiential Learning to help students put theories learned in the classroom to work in the world.
“I Love UD gives everyone in the Flyer family — alumni, students, staff, faculty and friends — a chance to reconnect, celebrate and show their love for the University,” said Jennifer Howe, vice president for University advancement. “Those who get involved not only demonstrate their affinity for this special place, but also take an active step in supporting the University’s mission in multiple ways.”
Below are just a few ways to participate:
Make a blanket for Dayton Children’s Hospital. Supplies will be provided. Find dates and locations at udayton.edu/iloveud.
Donate to help patients at Dayton Children’s Hospital by donating hats, mittens, diapers, baby wipes and other items. Find drop-off locations online.
“Break up” with another school by donating a new or gently used college or team shirt and receive an I Love UD shirt in exchange. All donated shirts will be given to St. Vincent de Paul. Find dates and locations online.
Give a new stuffed animal at the men's basketball game on Feb. 21 or the women's game on Feb. 22. The stuffed animals will be given to patients at Dayton Children's Hospital.
Join Flyers across the country in serving their communities. Find a list of events online or connect with a local University of Dayton alumni community.
Support the Fund for Experiential Learning or another program at the University with a financial gift. Learn more at udayton.edu/iloveud.
Share a photo of a UD memory for a collage of the UD community, past and present. Share online at udayton.edu/iloveud.
I Love UD has been an overwhelming success since its first year, 2013. Through last year's campaign, 100 families were served by donations to Homefull, more than 1,200 shirts went to St. Vincent de Paul, and about 2,000 donors gave gifts to support the I Love UD scholarship fund and other University programs.
