Banners for the Chapel

The University of Dayton is inviting the public to help craft banners to hang in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception during the Advent season, Nov. 27 through Christmas Eve.

"Keeping in mind this period of preparation for Jesus' birth is personal and communal, we are inviting the Dayton community to participate in the artistic process of creating liturgical banners for the chapel," said Crystal Sullivan, director of campus ministry.

The banners will be made of wet and needle felted wool. Small handheld pieces will become the building blocks or incremental sections of five vertical banners.

No experience is necessary.

Sessions, Aug. 31 through Sept. 11, are in Fitz Hall, room 284. Register online here. Participants must pick up a parking pass in parking services in Fitz Hall for sessions before 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. No permit is needed after 4:30 p.m. or weekends.
