Many college profs would be hard pressed to deliver a lecture in 90 seconds. We ask some of our leading scholars to do just that.
University of Dayton graduate Don Novello '64 — best known as the irreverent Father Guido Sarducci on "Saturday Night Live" — still gets laughs for a sketch he created called the "Five-Minute University."
How about the 90-second lecture?
That's what happens when you ask leading scholars to pose, and answer, an intriguing question — in 90 seconds. Was Christopher Columbus a genius or was he just lucky? If you burn a dollar, is society poorer? What if our knees bent the other way?
Some of the questions are scholarly. Some are offbeat. All the answers are fascinating.
Mike Kurtz and Brian Mills, part of the enrollment management and marketing team at the University of Dayton, created the series. Watch the first four segments by clicking on the related link.
