Photographs of scenic landscapes, idyllic images and once-in-a-lifetime moments from around the globe graced the walls and spaces of ArtStreet in November for the annual Citizens of the World exhibit. Mechanical engineering junior Aidan Garland submitted a photograph of himself riding a camel in the Sahara. He wrote, “To be a citizen of the world is to … experience new sights, sounds, tastes and cultures, learning from the locals of somewhere new and spreading love and appreciation for those people and places.”
While studying abroad in Madrid, Garland spent his weekends traveling in Europe and to Morocco, his first time in Africa. He said, “I went on this trip with a group of students who I’d never met before and ended the trip with new friends, a new country visited and new cultural experiences.”
