Horsing around

Horsing around

One uncommon student organization that can be found at the University of Dayton is the Equestrian Club.

The club offers lessons to students of all experience levels, making it a great choice for any and all who are interested in joining. Members learn how to properly handle and care for the horses they ride, and they can even compete against other colleges through the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association. The club makes competing accessible for those who do not have a horse of their own or access to regular horseback riding.

Members travel not too far from campus, about 40 minutes north to Puthoff Performance Horses in Laura, Ohio, or a little bit closer to campus in Troy, Ohio, at Sunnybrook Training Center.

Beyond learning the ins and outs of horses, club members form bonds with each other through their group lessons and club events. This is not a club to pass up for those who love these majestic animals.
