Every day is a bill of fare
Life is like a menu. In a restaurant there are meals that are cooked and served together as a set group with a set price. Food items that are ordered “off menu” are à la carte. That is, they are served and priced not as part of a set meal. As you go through your day, the things you experience may come to you together as a set, or separately. Either way the encounters are consumed and at the end of the day you feel full.
