Education through illumination

Education through illumination

Larry Burgess November 04, 2022

November shows us the passing of time with falling leaves and shorter days. Fewer hours of daylight mean we must be sure all the lights are working to illuminate our way. Speaking of enlightening, the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center reminds us that it is Native American Heritage month. Recently, a lunch in Alumni Hall was hosted by MEC. Friendship and togetherness were enjoyed by all, along with a menu of authentic foods. Some of the dishes included Navajo Fry Bread; “Three Sisters Soup” made of corn, squash, and beans; Seminole Hominy; and Quinoa. The event was a living example of education through illumination.
