Dawn of the dorms

Dawn of the dorms

Nick Thompson ’23 August 19, 2022

After a few sleepy summer months at the University of Dayton, this morning campus awoke with a record number of Flyers descending upon the hallowed halls of Marycrest, Marianist, Stuart and Founders. Parents and students came by the carload with suitcases, boxes, even garbage bags stuffed with belongings, ready to make UD a home away from home for the 2022-23 school year.

“An estimated 12,000 students have enrolled for this academic year.”

The University has projected an estimated 12,000 students have enrolled for this academic year — to include students in undergraduate, graduate, law and doctoral programs. Within this year’s freshman class, more than 19% of students are from racial and ethnic groups historically underrepresented on campus. Additionally, approximately 9% of first-year Flyers are the first in their families to attend college.

Classes start Monday, Aug. 22. UD is excited to welcome both new and returning students to campus. Go Flyers!
