Forever Flyers

The Class of 2020 finally got the celebration it deserved May 14 on the lawn of the Central Mall under blue skies and fluffy clouds. While the first months of the pandemic resigned these graduating seniors to a virtual ceremony, they soon began planning for a make-up celebration: part reunion, part commencement.

“I was always excited about the idea of a graduation ceremony,” said Chloe Voelker ’20, a double major in management information systems and entrepreneurship who now works for tech company VNDLY in Cincinnati. “Having the ceremony means a lot not only for me and my peers but also for my parents, who sacrificed so much to have me attend UD.”

After the ceremony, more than 800 invited guests celebrated their Flyers at a porch party.
