A prayer service to end racism was recently held at the Peace Pole between the chapel and St. Mary’s Hall. The names of those who died in the Buffalo, New York, and the Laguna Woods, California, shootings were read aloud. A gong was sounded after each spoken name, followed by a reflective pause. Petitions were lifted and responded to as well. Blue peace flags were then set in the ground around the Peace Pole. At the conclusion those present were asked to share a sign of peace with each other.
