Following a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, the UD Alumni Association announced registration for Reunion 2022 is now open. Planning for activities new and old has been happening for months behind the scenes in anticipation of June 10-12, 2022.
The UD Alumni Association will be celebrating the milestone reunions of the classes of 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017. The 50th reunions of the classes of 1970 and 1971 will also be honored and inducted, along with the Class of 1972, into the Golden Flyers.
Anita Brothers, director of alumni relations and engagement, said, “We are cautiously optimistic about hosting Reunion 2022 in person and are excited to celebrate our new Golden Flyers.”
Guests can expect a return to regular activities like the annual Porch Party, campus tours, Friday night class parties, and alumni Mass; new this year is Fly Around Dayton, offering tours, shopping and tastings at downtown businesses off the Flyer bus route.
The alumni association will showcase Flyer-owned businesses as part of the tours, such as local brewery Dayton Beer Co., downtown bakery Twist Cupcakery and brewpub Lock 27 adjacent to Day Air Ballpark.
Tours of the newly renovated Dayton Arcade will also be available.
“Downtown has transformed in the last few years into a wonderful area rich with restaurants, shops and growing industry,” Brothers said. “Most of our alumni have not seen its transformation, so we are eager to show it off in true Flyer fashion.”
