The 10 Under 10 program recognizes undergraduate alumni from the past 10 years who embody UD’s call to “Learn. Lead. Serve.” More than 75 Flyers were nominated, and each of the 10 recipients is  being honored for making a significant difference in their communities.

From starting successful companies to serving children who have suffered from poverty and neglect, these alumni represent both the quality and character of UD alumni, as chosen by the day10 young alumni executive committee.

Historically, the University has celebrated alumni through the Alumni Awards, which were established in 1967, but many alumni saw a gap in the recognition.

“We wanted to recognize young alumni. Even during their early careers, when so many people are frequently moving or changing jobs, they are still representing UD in inspiring ways in their communities,” said Surya Freeman ’17.

Freeman has been a member of day10 since 2019 and served as the project coordinator for the group as they worked with University Advancement to establish the 10 Under 10 program.
