Alumni now have a central social media source for information on all Flyer events, conversations and news. Hosted by the UD Alumni Association, the Facebook page brings together information once offered by 35 alumni community pages. It can be found at facebook.com/UDaytonAlum.

Quentin Marsh ’11, UD community alumni leader in Rochester, New York, encouraged Flyers to like and follow the page.

“This is a great resource to learn how to go, give and lead with the UD community,” he said.

“This is a great resource to learn how to go, give and lead with the UD community.”

The page is also open to parents and friends who, along with alumni, want to engage in ongoing, digital conversations with the University about what is most important to them in the space where they are, said Anita Brothers, director of alumni relations and engagement.

“This page will allow us to more broadly connect with alumni from across the globe and bring engagement opportunities to them no matter where they are,” she said.

Virtual event offerings also mean alumni have more opportunities to participate. For example, on Dec. 16, wine specialist Bill Whiting ’90 along with Allison Leigh ’05 from the Office of Mission and Rector led the virtual wine tasting “Marianists and Bordeaux: A Perfect Pairing.” More than 180 people attended.

The page also appeals to recent graduates, who received wise words in December from young alumni. Among them: “Everyone you meet has something brand new to teach you,” and “Remember, you are a Flyer for life.”
