This portrait of my younger sister is about reminisces of girlhood: adventures in nature, playful experiments with makeup and beginning the journey of self-discovery.
For my work, I collect visual and emotional fragments of women’s experiences of femininity, anxiety and self-discovery. Through painting, I piece together bits of memories, emotions and colors — creating a collage-like environment of complexity and vulnerability to reflect that within each of us. By using paint and color to reshape observations and experiences of humanness, I hope to offer a line of emotional connection to the viewer.
