A fab four

A fab four

These mushrooms were found at the bottom of the hill by Marycrest Hall. A mushroom is a spore-bearing body of fungus. Some mushrooms are poisonous, so be safe, don’t eat the ones you find. Historically, mushrooms have been associated with gnomes and fairies in literature. Shakespeare mentions mushrooms in “The Tempest”, in which he wrote: “….it is the pastime of elves to make midnight mushrooms.” Some varieties use bioluminescence to produce light. During ancient times, people used them to illuminate their way at night.
