Alternative Testing Guidelines

Important COVID-19 Information

The OLR Testing Center is currently operating only when the University is holding in-person undergraduate classes. 

SP21 Final Exams requests will be accepted by the OLR Testing Center ONLY for classes that are 100% on-campus.

  • If you have been approved for Alternative Testing accommodations, work with your instructor(s) to ensure you receive your accommodations during any period that in-person classes are suspended.
  • Faculty: please visit Alternative Testing for Faculty.

For all regular semester exams, quizzes, and mid-terms (NOT final exams), you must submit your request through AIM at least three business days in advance.*

Deadlines to submit a regular exam request to OLR.

Tuesday Thursday Prior
Wednesday Friday Prior

Friday Tuesday Prior

*NOTE: Please remember weekends and holidays do not count as business days.

SP21 Final Exam requests will be accepted ONLY for classes that are 100% on-campus classes. 

Late exams/reschedules MAY NOT BE HONOREDDon't wait! Please submit your Final Exam requests EARLY! The deadline to request to take your Final Exam with the OLR Testing Center is noon on April 7, 2021.

NOTE: Remember that neither your professor nor OLR is obligated to provide testing accommodations for requests made outside of the established timelines

  • Check your class syllabus(es) to make sure you are requesting the correct times and dates.
OLR schedules Final Exams using a time block system.
If your class is scheduled to start final exam:  OLR will start your final on the same date
Between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM 9:00 AM
Between 12:01 PM and 4:30 PM 1:00 PM
4:31 PM or later 3:45 PM (except Friday!!)

Alternative Testing

If you have been approved for testing accommodations*, and your instructor is not able to accommodate you within the classroom or the department, you may take exams, quizzes, mid-terms, and/or finals in OLR's Testing Center.

Note: Please remember, you have a shared responsibility and you must follow the established protocols and deadlines stated in the Final Exam Request Deadline and Regular Exam Request Deadline sections.

*OLR proctors exams only for UD students who are approved for testing accommodations. 

  • You must discuss your testing arrangements with your instructor prior to scheduling anything in the Testing Center.
  • You must use AIM to schedule each exam you wish to take in the OLR Testing Center.
  • You must schedule your exam(s) within the established deadlines as outlined in the Final Exam Request and Regular Exam Request Deadline sections on this page.
  • Note that the timeline for scheduling Final exams is different than the timeline for regular semester exams and quizzes
  • If you know your test will be on Isidore, please make a note of that in your request!

Failure to submit any exam or final request by the deadlines may result in OLR's inability to provide accommodations for testing and you will have to make arrangements with your instructor.
