Dayton Law Enters into Pipeline Pact with Central State
The School of Law has entered into an agreement with Central State University, a historically black college in nearby Wilberforce, Ohio, to help prepare students for law school and recruit them to attend UDSL. More »
Legal Writing Teaching Workshop Slated for December
The School of Law and its Legal Profession Program will host a Training Workshop for Legal Writing Faculty on December 3. The workshop is designed for new legal writing faculty and law librarians, and persons interested in entering the field of legal writing and research. More »
Workshop Helps Prep New Public Defenders
New public defenders from around Ohio received practical lessons designed to help them improve their "nuts and bolts" lawyering skills during a special workshop held in Keller Hall. The workshop was coordinated by Adjunct Professor Ira Mickenberg and his nonprofit organization, the National Defender Training Project. More »
Record Number Play in Kessler Golf Tournament

Judge Dennis Greaney '78 dies
Judge Dennis Greaney, a member of the Dayton Municipal Court, died Tuesday, September 28, following a brave battle with cancer. A 1978 Dayton Law graduate, Judge Greaney, Judge Greaney was 64. More »
PILT Symposium Examines Changes to Trademark Law
During a talk at UDSL, Louisville Law Professor John Cross argued that the United States needs to make major changes to its predominant trademark law, the Lanham Act. Speaking as part of the Scholarly Symposia Series on Current Issues in Intellectual Property Law, Crossed suggested that the nearly seven-decade old Lanham Act either be entirely replaced or extensively overhauled. In Memoriam
Emory Scott Searcy, the son of Professor Dale Searcy and his wife, Pat, died October 22, 2010. He was 41. He graduated from Oakwood High School and the University of Dayton with a degree in mechanical engineering. His interests in motorcycles, classic cars, guitar, fishing, and camping were only eclipsed by his family's love for him.
