Fundraiser Provides Chance to Say "Be Mine"

The SBA Community Service Committee held raised $400 for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton during a Valentine's Day fundraiser. The committee sold carnations that a purchaser could then send to someone in the Dayton Law community. The carnations were donated by a family member of a member of the committee.

The Community Service Committee sold all 250 of its carnations and received another $150 in donations.

"Giving back to the Dayton community has been and continues to be a long-term goal of the SBA Community Service Committee," said committee chair Andrew Tomko. "Valentine¿s Day provided law school students an opportunity to send a carnation to fellow classmates and professors while at the same time supporting our animal friends during the cold winter months. This event would not have been possible without the time and dedication of committee members Amy Foster, Jonathan Hall, Emelia Hanson, Zach Houchin, Joanna Lenefonte, Adam Lorimer and Lindsey Rasmussen."

"As the spring approaches, we look forward to holding similar events and continuing our commitment to service," Tomko said.
