Career Services Director Tim Swensen was featured in a video on Lexis Hub discussing what law school students need to do to be successful in school and providing advice to job seekers.

Professor Blake Watson accepted an offer from the Seattle University Law Review to publish his article "The Impact of the American Doctrine of Discovery on Native Land Rights in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand."

Associate Professor Victoria VanZandt¿s breakout session, "Assessment Planning in Legal Research and Writing Courses," at the Legal Writing Institute Biennial Conference in Marco Island, Florida, is highlighted on the Legal Writing Prof Blog.

Assistant Professor Thaddeus Hoffmeister was quoted in a Houston Chronicle article on the Supreme Court's decision in Skilling v. U.S. He also was quoted in a Cincinnati Enquirer article on a high-profile murder case in Warren County, Ohio.

Adjunct Professor Ken Germain gave the keynote speech at the fourth annual Witt Law Day 2010 at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, on April 20. The theme of the event was "Welcome to the Wonderful World of Intellectual Property Law," and it was sponsored by the Wittenberg Pre-Law Association.

Professor Vernellia Randall is visiting this fall at Florida A&M Collage of Law. Her article "Teaching Diversity Skills in Law School" was published in the Spring 2010 issue of St. Louis Law Journal. In addition, Randall was the coordinator and drafter for the stakeholder submission on Racial Disparities in Health and Discrimination, which was submitted to the United Nations for the Universal Periodic Review of the United States, which will occur in November. The Race and Health Report was signed on by 26 organizations and 54 individuals.

Professor Tom Hagel was quoted in an article in the Dayton Daily News examining whether a couple who had run away from the Dayton area would be charged after an extensive search took place to find them. He was also quoted in the Dayton Daily News in an article examining an inmate¿s chances of parole.

Merle Wilberding, former adjunct professor at UDSL, published a children's book, Haki and The Rule of Law, released by Children's Historical Publishing of Dayton. The publication was funded by LexisNexis, the Dayton Bar Foundation and the Dayton Rotary Club. In conjunction with the release of Haki and The Rule of Law, 26 Dayton public schools participated in an essay contest on the subject of respect.

Professor Dennis Greene¿s one-act play, "The Forgotten," was performed in August at the Highways Performance Space and Gallery in Santa Monica, California.

Associate Professor Pamela Laufer-Ukeles is quoted in a Dayton Daily News story examining custodial rights of grandparents.

Professor Richard Saphire was quoted in a Dayton Daily News article, "Arizona law could prompt immigrants to move to Ohio," on Arizona's new immigration law.
