Jim Meaney '77 and Mike Zaino '83 hosted Dean Lisa Kloppenberg at their offices, Zaino and Humphrey, at a gathering of the UD Business Connect Group of Central Ohio on May 12 in Columbus. About 25 UD graduates attended including Dayton Law alumni David Chakeres '77 and Gil Gradisar '78. The Business Connect Group includes accountants, bank officers, engineers, software designers, marketing professional, doctors and lawyers.


Michael Hall '79 is heading to the Ohio 2nd District Court of Appeals next year, after winning the Republican Primary in May. Since no Democrats have filed to run for the seat, Hall will run unopposed this November.


Michael Biondolillo '79 has been named senior vice president of human resources at Henkel Corporation. Prior to joining Henkel, Biondolillo, who has more than 20 years of HR experience, was a vice president of human resources at QVC in West Chester, Pennsylvania.


Mark R. Chilson '81 was appointed executive vice president and general counsel for CareSource in Dayton. Mark has represented CareSource since its inception in 1989. He is an Ohio Super Lawyer, as well as an Ohio Super Lawyer Corporate Counsel.


Chris Atkins '84, a defense attorney from Middletown, Ohio, was featured in an article on his chess-playing skills, "Chessaholic plays 11 at a time," in the Hamilton, Ohio, Journal-News.


Carrie E. Cope '90 has merged her regulatory and compliance and specialty lines claims practices with Schuyler, Roche & Crisham, P.C. in Chicago. Carrie's regulatory practice includes advising clients on regulatory and compliance issues in the United States and foreign jurisdictions, while her specialty lines claims practice includes providing consulting services to the insurance industry.


Jason S. Miller '98 joined Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed in Orlando. A registered patent attorney, Jason will work in the firm¿s Intellectual Property Business Group.


Michael Navarre '98, special counsel in Steptoe & Johnson¿s Washington, D.C., office, was appointed to the Board of Advisors of the National Institute of Military Justice. The nonprofit National Institute of Military Justice seeks to encourage the fair administration of justice within the military justice system, as well as public understanding of the system. Navarre, a former lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corp, also maintains a well-regarded military justice blog, www.caaflog.com.


Ryan O. White '00 was named partner at Taft Stettinius & Hollister. A registered patent attorney, White is located in Taft's Indianapolis office.


Sean M. Young '06 recently joined the law firm Bellock & Coogan in Oak Brook, Illinois, as an associate attorney. He specializes in federal and state taxation, estate planning, estate administration and real estate law.


Michael O. Eshleman '08 has been appointed to the Judicial and Legislative Committee of the Warren County, Ohio, Bar Association. Michael practices in Ohio.


Mark D. Thompson '10 has joined the Cleveland firm Gallagher Sharp, working in the Professional Liability, Transportation, and General Litigation Practice Groups. He served as the comment editor on the Dayton Law Review and received the Dean Frederick Davis Award for Excellence and the Gerald and Kathleen Green Scholarship.
