MSL PROGRAM DEFERRED PAYMENT OPTION FOR EMPLOYER REIMBURSEMENT

The University of Dayton offers an option to defer tuition charges for those MSL students who receive employer reimbursement based on course completion and/or grades.

In order to use this option, students must be in good financial standing with the University, and may choose to enroll in a deferment plan each semester. (Fee is $50 per semester.) A new application, payment of the non-refundable application fee, and updated employer verification are required. Employer approval includes a signed and dated letter on company letterhead or a completed and approved copy of your employer’s official course reimbursement approval form. Include your name, and be sure the form is currently dated. After you submit the items and you are approved, you will receive an email from UD’s Office of Student Accounts explaining how to pay the fee to complete this payment option for the semester.

FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS

If you would like to take federal student loans to cover the cost of tuition and fees (and also a small personal allowance for books and expenses, if desired), you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have the results sent to UD. Our school code is 003127. Loan offerings can only be made after we have a valid FAFSA on file for you.

PRIVATE ALTERNATIVE STUDENT LOANS

If you prefer, you may, with credit approval, take a private student loan rather than a federal student loan. Interest rates and terms are set by each lender.

VETERANS’ EDUCATION BENEFITS

If you have veterans’ education benefits eligibility, you will need to first apply for your benefits.

Once you receive your Certificate of Eligibility (COE), you can review UD’s Checklist for your Benefits by Chapter and submit your COE, copy of your application (VA Form 22-1990 or VA Form 22-5490) and Chapter Checklist to UD’s Veterans’ Services Office.

Students with VA Educational Benefits may also take student loans if they choose.

MILITARY TUITION ASSISTANCE

Military Tuition Assistance is a benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Cost Guard. Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, and application requirements.

For active-duty AF members, you may be eligible for tuition assistance through the Education Services Program.  You will need to have the course pre-approved and an AF Form 1227 signed by your commander and/or supervisor and emailed to Lori Lynch in UD’s Office of Student Accounts: llynch1@udayton.edu.

FEDERAL TRAINING PROGRAM FOR ELIGIBILE CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES

Eligible employing organizations may approve you for government-sponsored training. You must be pre-approved and submit a completed and signed Standard Form 182 (US Office of Personnel Management) to Lori Lynch in UD’s Office of Student Accounts: llynch1@udayton.edu, who will then bill the employer.
