Creating Inclusive Community

Creating Inclusive Community

The Creating Inclusive Community (CIC) initiative offers several ways to get connected in examining privilege and taking action. Learn more about how to get involved below.

Engage in powerful dialogue in the Creating Inclusive Community mini-course!

Interested in getting connected to Creating Inclusive Community? Contact Joia Mitchell Holman at to learn more about the mini-course and Creating Inclusive Community experience.  Immerse yourself in a class designed around learning more about yourself and others.

Applications for the 2022 cohort are open.  In "Understanding, Respecting, and Connecting: Examining Privilege and Taking Action" UDI 380 (M1), students will experience powerful dialogue in community.  The mini-course is offered Tuesdays from 5:05 to 6:20 pm. Through this mini-course, students can also expect to:

  • Experience the power and challenges of privilege in all its forms by attending a diversity conference off-campus.
  • Put your new knowledge to work on campus through a student-driven diversity and inclusion initiative.
  • Create change through student-led action projects.
  • Share your knowledge and experience via 2022 Stander Symposium
