Important Dates
Important Dates for New Students
WHEN MUST I ARRIVE TO DAYTON?
New international students must report to campus before the program start date on the I-20 or DS-2019. On the program start date, required activities will begin such as Bridges (required for academic students) and IEP Placement Testing (required for those studying English first). Missing these activities could seriously jeopardize your immigration and academic statuses.
If you will live in university housing, pay close attention to the date housing opens. If you are required to live on campus (or have requested to live on campus) and arrive before this date, you will not be able to access your room. Additionally, you will be responsible for arranging temporary accommodations and paying associated costs.
FREE AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION
The Center for International Programs (CIP) provides free transportation for new students from the Dayton International Airport to campus before the start of each term, upon request. Reservations are required.
- Scroll down to learn when we offer free transportation each term.
- Submit your request at least 7 days before your flight arrives.
- When we receive your request, an ISSS staff member will contact you directly to confirm your flight details and answer any questions you have about travelling to Dayton.
- If your request is approved, a driver will be waiting for you at the airport when you arrive.
If you will arrive outside of our service times, you are responsible for arranging your own transportation. Click here for a list of transportation options at the airport.
When is the IEP placement test?
Make sure to view all program dates, including the start of placement testing and the first day of classes for each term.
Remember to arrive at the University of Dayton campus before the first day of placement testing! Students who miss the IEP placement test cannot begin their studies until the next IEP term. Download the IEP Student Handbook for more information about IEP program policies, and familiarize yourself with arrival and orientation information.
