Welcome to the Global and Intercultural Affairs Center
The Global and Intercultural Affairs Center is located in two buildings on campus and includes four areas: Education Abroad and Away, Global Engagement and Partnerships, Intensive English Program, and International Student and Scholar Services. Each area has a crucial role in advancing the mission and values of the Global and Intercultural Affairs Center.

Our Areas
Education Abroad & Away provides strategic direction for innovative and inclusive global opportunities. With attention to high-quality programs, intercultural and personal development, and student success, we engage the campus community in an effort to develop empowered global citizens. Through collaboration with campus, local communities, and global partners, we offer advising, faculty-led program design and coordination, exchange opportunities, and risk management oversight.
Global Engagement directs and supports initiatives that foster intercultural engagement and development for faculty, staff and students. These programs and trainings provide opportunities for cross-cultural exchange, relationship development, reflection and dialogue to encourage deeper awareness, knowledge, and intercultural skills, which support institutional goals for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Global Partnerships seeks, builds and maintains reciprocal relationships with institutions and organizations locally and abroad.
Guided by our Marianist values, the University of Dayton Intensive English Program prepares English language learners for success in their academic and/or professional careers by:
- Providing English language instruction rooted in best practices and delivered by a diverse team of TESOL professionals.
- Guiding students toward autonomy as they learn, explore, and practice the skills and habits necessary for success in U.S. universities and the global community.
- Linking learning and scholarship to leadership and service.
- Partnering with the broader University to create and facilitate opportunities for intercultural exchange, experiential learning, and academic preparedness.
- Welcoming a diverse community of learners.
