In 1995 the Marian Library contacted Pastoral Marian Organizations in the United States that work with the laity. This document gives a summary description of each organization that responded to our inquiry, and the materials that the Marian Library has available concerning each group. The Anawim Community was founded in 1975 as a community of laity and priests with the mission to reflect the spirit of the poor of God and to echo Mary's fiat. The Anawim community has two branches of membership: Covenant and Associate. The spirituality is shared through the pilgrim Icon of Our Lady of the Liturgical Life which depicts the liturgical mysteries contained within the heart of Mary.

On January 16, 2001, The Association for The Arch of Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and International Shrine of the Holy Innocents, a not-for-profit New York corporation, was formed in Buffalo, New York. As described in detail in our Prospectus, the Association’s purpose is to build a truly world-class, globally-significant shrine, to be located on the shore of Lake Erie adjacent to downtown Buffalo. The shrine will feature primarily a monumental, ascendable, golden triumphal arch, The Arch of Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to be the world's tallest monument measuring seven-hundred feet to the tip of the golden Cross that will surmount its peak (seven being the mystical number of perfection, as Mary represents the perfection of humanity).

Founded in 1944 to support the spiritual and material works in the Congregation of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception (founded 1673). The association produces and distributes Catholic literature, videos, and audio tapes. They have a quarterly magazine, and a monthly newsletter for those who join the 13th of the Month Club (Fatima focus). They promote devotion to the Divine Mercy as encouraged by Blessed Faustina Kowalska. The Shrine of the Divine Mercy is on the grounds of the association's headquarters. The association promotes the role of Mary, the ministry of intercession, and the proclamation of the Divine Mercy.

The Intercessors of the Lamb are an Association of the Christian Faithful with branches for priests (servant), religious (hermit), and laity (companion) founded in 1984 by Sr. Nadine Brown. Their mission focuses on living and teaching contemplative spirituality, intercessory prayer and spiritual warfare. All members are consecrated to Mary with the de Montfort consecration. The center offers a contemplative and intercessory prayer formation program. It promotes a National Intercessory Prayer Network, and sponsors the weekly Our Lady Queen of Peace Prayer Service, days of intercession, all-night vigils, weekends of Renewal in the Holy Spirit, intercessory prayer leadership weekends, spiritual warfare leadership seminars, an annual National Conference on Intercessory Prayer, parish missions, and establishes intercessory prayer circles for parishes, homes offices.

A nonprofit organization established in 1990 for the purpose of evangelizing the world's people to the Catholic Church. It is dedicated to serving our Lord, spreading devotion to His Blessed Mother and general faith building. They publish a twelve-page newsletter, Gospa Missions, which has Marian messages, prayers and devotions, basic Catholic doctrine, religious news, and advertising for religious items they sell through their religious store's catalog. Their founder, Thomas Rutkowski, does many speaking engagements. They sponsor retreats, pilgrimages, workshops, conferences, a radio program, and relief aid to benefit Croatia and Bosnia. Gospa Missions also has twenty-two regional offices in North America, and one each in Croatia and Africa. The offices are interconnected by a computer system.

The Secular Order is associated with the religious communities of Discalced Carmelites. It "welcomes those of the faithful who, by special vocation, undertake to live in the world an evangelical life of fraternal communion imbued with the spirit of contemplative prayer, in imitation of the Virgin Mary, and animated with apostolic zeal according to the example and the teaching of the Carmelite saints." (Secular Order Rule) Members usually belong to a local group, foster a life of prayer (daily Mass, morning and evening prayer, half hour of solitary prayer, frequent use of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and special days of penance) and wear the brown scapular. There is a two-year formation period before a Temporary Promise can be made, and another three years before the Definitive Promise.
