Concourse D

Concourse D

In the summer of 2017, as part of the third annual Institute of Applied Creativity for Transformation (IACT) Collaboration Accelerator, a team of 12 UD students were asked a somewhat outlandish question: “What is a library without books?” Their answer, after several weeks of research and creative development: Concourse D — a project development studio for students, faculty and university affiliates to connect, collaborate and create. Concourse D opened on the renovated second floor of Roesch Library in the fall of 2019.

Walk through the elements of the Concourse D prototype as designed by the Accelerator students:

With a vision to be “an intellectual fulcrum, opening doors, activating scholarship, inspiring creativity,” the renovation of Roesch Library has been much more than decorative or practical; it’s a veritable reimagining of library spaces and services — an opportunity to take a bold step toward the vision. As of September 2019, Concourse D has opened on the second floor of Roesch Library; visit the University Libraries website for more information.
