Collaboration Accelerator 4.0

The 2018 Collaboration Accelerator program focused on education innovation, integrating challenges from Centerville City Schools, High AIMS network of public school districts, and the University of Dayton First Year Coordinating Team, as well as accelerating the 7 GEMnasium deliverable concepts that were selected through crowdsourcing at our April Summit Slam.

The 2018 program concluded with our second annual Creative Summit, held on July 25, 2018. Nearly 150 educators from across the southwest Ohio region attended as we unveiled the final deliverables, followed by a series of "sprints"— fast-paced, active learning experiences — where participants further engaged in each challenge deliverable.

Following in the footsteps of last summer's "Concourse D," 5 of the 6 deliverables presented have already begun the process of development from idea to implementation.

2018 Challenges:

  • How might we empower students to find purpose in solving complex problems? (Centerville Schools)
  • How might we redefine student success through failure and perseverance? (Centerville Schools)
  • How might we create encouraging and engaging collaborative learning communities? (Centerville Schools)
  • How might we manipulate time to create flexibility in growth opportunities for students, faculty, staff and administrators? (High AIMS Network)
  • What role should first year experiences play in helping students to transition effectively from high school to college? (UD First Year Coordinating Team)
  • How might we create a workforce enterprise for people in recovery who are reentering society from addiction and/or incarceration? (GEMnasium Grand Challenge)
