2016 Accelerator

Collaboration Accelerator 2.0

2016 Challenges:

  • Utilize unmanned aircraft systems technology in a way that serves the public good (Air Force Research Laboratory)
  • Demonstrate additive manufacturing’s ability to reduce our energy footprint (UD Research Institute)
  • What is connectivity? Why do people want to connect? (Emerson Technologies)

At the culmination of the 2016 program, the 12 Accelerators presented three immersive experiences at ArtStreet and the Fire Blocks District downtown. Humanity-centered design was a key component of the students’ process, and project “solutions” included an emergency response drone, a vertical farming prototype designed to conserve water and energy, and an “idea file” that explores the true origin and “soul” of connectivity.
