Completing your UD degree is an important achievement. The entire Flyer community is looking forward to celebrating all your accomplishments! The Spring Commencement Ceremonies will be held at the UD Arena. The ceremony begins promptly at the specified time.
- Doctoral/Graduate Ceremony: Saturday, May 4, 2024, 12:45 PM
- Undergraduate Ceremony: Sunday, May 5, 2024, 9:45 AM
Graduates will receive instructions regarding the time and place to line up for the procession in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. University Marshals and volunteers will assist students in lining up and direct the students throughout the ceremony. No rehearsal is required. We estimate the ceremony will last approximately 2 and a half hours!

The University of Dayton regards its Commencement Exercises as among the most important ceremonial occasions of the academic year. These exercises are filled with symbols and traditions designed to remind us all of the years that universities have existed and their noble purposes.

To further contribute to a safe and efficient environment for graduates, guests, and faculty, we are strongly encouraging customers to take advantage of our online pre-order service. We will have a contact-free customer experience for the guests who are simply picking up their pre-purchased and reserved product. This will also increase overall physical distancing measures. The order for your cap and gown was placed when you completed your graduation application. Caps and gowns must be picked up from the UD Bookstore at the Grad Fair or with an arrangement made prior to the ceremonies.
