How can you help?

You have passion for the University of Dayton experience – and we want you to share that with our future students. Become an Admission Ambassador by attending events, making phone calls, writing future Flyers and working directly with schools are just a few of the ways you can get involved.

Admission Receptions

The Office of Admission and Financial Aid hosts many receptions across the country. A panel of representatives usually consisting of an admission and financial aid counselor, faculty and current student travel to different cities to provide information that can help prospective students and parents become more familiar with the UD experience. Alumni can serve as a representative on the panel, assist with registration and share information about the local alumni community events.

College Fairs / College Nights

These events allow prospective students and parents to meet with admission representatives from many colleges and collect information about those that they find interesting. Each college/university is assigned a table where a school representative stands to answer questions and pass out publications, as well as collect information cards for students who would like to be added to the college mailing list. Fairs usually last around two hours. As an alumnus/alumna, you will represent the University and speak with students and parents about admission and the UD experience.

Coffee Chats

We want to help families through the college decision-making process. As Admission Ambassadors you will offer prospective students the opportunity to chat with you over a cup of coffee. This isn't an interview; just a conversation with an alum who's willing to answer questions and guide families through the admission process. Coffee chats are scheduled for 30- 45 minutes, and most take place in the late afternoon or early evening.

Phone Calls and Letters

Relive your UD memories and positive experiences with prospective students and families by encouraging students to visit campus, attend UD events or by sending welcome letters and making phone calls to local students.

Recruiting a Continued Diverse UD

The University of Dayton is always looking for ways to increase interest among underrepresented populations. African American, Hispanic, international and transfer alumni are encouraged to help us contact accepted students, share their UD experiences, answer questions and encourage them to choose UD as their home for the next four years. Alums will do so through phone calls, letters, in-person meetings or mentorship.
