Statement on Employment Tax Deferral

A presidential memorandum was issued August 8, 2020, directing the Secretary of the Treasury to defer the withholding of the employee share of social security taxes on wages paid between September 1 and December 31, 2020.

After the study of IRS guidance, the University will not be participating in this deferment program. Employees should expect normal employment taxes to be withheld from pay.
