Summer Undergraduate Research Experience
Student application deadline is Jan. 18, 2025.
Eligibility
- The program is open to those who will be students during the summer of 2025.
- Internal candidates must have completed their first year at UD or the Sinclair Academy.
- Candidates that are not part of UD or the UD Sinclair Academy must be rising seniors.
Applicants must agree to the following:
- Participate in all 2025 SURE events and programming with fellow SURE participants for the duration of the program.
- Engage in research, professional development and outreach activities on a full-time (approximately 35 hours/week) basis for ten weeks at a schedule mutually agreed upon by student and faculty research mentor. The research will be approximately 28 hours per week.
- Generate a research poster and present this research poster at the conclusion of the program.
- Understand that NO outside employment or summer courses or study abroad programs should preclude you from participating in the program — typically Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- For UD students only: Present research poster at the Summer Research Symposium at the end of the program in July.
Deadline: Student applications are due Jan. 18, 2025. Announcements will be made by the end of February.
