Center for Intelligent Infrastructure Systems

Applied Artificial Intelligence Lab

The Applied Artificial Intelligence research lab promotes and advances smart infrastructure systems and their corresponding sensing technologies focusing on multidisciplinary fields spanning machine learning, engineering geological modeling, infrastructure sustainability and resiliency, reliability-based design and risk assessment.

Our team has spent eight years in applying statistical and machine learning methods to civil engineering problems across a wide range of disciplines. Our completed projects include: predictive model of tunnel structure deformation, soil corrosivity assessment and underground pipeline integrity management, three-dimensional subsurface modeling, and large-scale pattern recognition using remote sensing and geophysical measurements.

We work closely with experts worldwide in electrical and computer engineering, material science and engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and geosciences.
