Women Engineering Program Overnight
Join us for an overnight experience hosted by the Women Engineering Program. While this overnight is focused towards a specific gender, please know that all admitted engineering students are welcome to register and attend. You may contact us at udengineering@udayton.edu
Saturday, March 2-Sunday, March 3, 2024
At the Women Engineering Program Overnight you will:
- Meet current UD women engineering students and learn how they are engaged across campus (inside and outside of the School of Engineering) and living out their passions.
- Visit one of the first-year housing options, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Integrated Learning Living Community in Stuart Residence Hall – meet current first-year STEM students living on the floors and see what a residence hall room looks like.
- Learn about experiential opportunities such as co-op and internships, study abroad, Ethos and undergraduate research.
- Get to know other students accepted to the University of Dayton School of Engineering for the fall of 2024.
- We'll end with a lunch at the UD Arena with your family before you attend the Admitted Student Day.
Student Schedule
SATURDAY EVENING
7:00 – 7:30 p.m. – Check-in – RecPlex (parents depart after check-in)
7:30 – 8:00 p.m. – Icebreakers and games
8:00 – 9:00 p.m. – Seek and Find followed by visit to the Women in Science and Engineering Integrated Learning Living Community (WISE ILLC) floor (first-year residence hall)
9:00 – 10:00 p.m. – Snacks and dessert while you design your UD experience
10:00 - 12:00 midnight – RecPlex activities and movie
SUNDAY MORNING
9:00 – 10:00 a.m. – Breakfast
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. – Parent pickup from RecPlex
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. – Mass (optional)
11:00 – 11:45 a.m. – Lunch at UD Arena hosted by the Women Engineering Program (WEP) and Multi-Ethnic Engineers Program (MEP). Guests attending the Admitted Student Day are invited to attend this lunch with you.
12:00 p.m. – Admitted Student Day begins at UD Arena
Parent Programming
There is no parent programming with this overnight on Saturday evening. Parents need to find their own accommodations for the overnight. Parents are encouraged to attend the Admitted Student Day event on Sunday with their student, including the lunch at 11:00 a.m.
Registration
- Students can register for the Overnight Visit Program in their Admission Portal.
- All students, regardless of age, who will attend the Overnight Visit Program must complete an overnight visit release form.
- If you have questions, or need special accommodations, please call 937-229-5080.
What to Pack
- Your own clothing (including gym clothes for our Saturday evening activities in the RecPlex). Casual weather-appropriate clothes are adequate for the overnight programming.
- Toiletries
- A towel for the showers. Showers will be available in the morning, but you must bring your own towel. Some students prefer to bring shower shoes.
- Bedding (including a pillow, blanket, sleeping bag and any other bedding needs you may find necessary). You will be sleeping on the floor of our recreational facility. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat, air mattress or something soft to place under your sleeping bag.
- Lockers will be available if you would like to secure your belongings. Please bring your own lock.

From the University of Dayton RecPlex to UD Arena:
From the RecPlex, follow Evanston Avenue to Irving Avenue and turn right (west). Proceed on Irving Avenue to Brown Street and turn right (north). Follow Brown Street to Stewart Street and turn left (west). Continue on Stewart Street across the bridge and turn left on Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Follow the signs to the UD Arena parking lot on the right.
From the UD Arena to the University of Dayton campus:
From the UD Arena parking lot, turn left (north) onto Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Turn right (east) onto Stewart Street. Proceed on Stewart Street and enter the University of Dayton campus at the arch, on your right.

Follow I-75 South and take Exit #51 (Edwin C. Moses Boulevard). Turn left and follow Edwin C. Moses Boulevard east. Turn left into the UD Arena parking lot.
