Summer Engineering Experiences at the University of Dayton

Register by May 25th for all residential camps and by June 17th for the virtual camp! Residential camps have limited capacity and will fill on a first come, first serve basis.

Eligibility

  • Residential Experiences
    • Our residential camps are open to high school students entering 11th or 12th grade in the fall of 2022.
    • Requirements: 3.0 GPA
      • If you do not meet the 3.0 GPA requirement or will be entering 10th grade, but you’re still interested in attending a residential camp, click here to complete and submit an "Interested, but not eligible” form. There is limited availability for each camp and extra spaces will be filled based on this form.
    • If you are not eligible for the residential experience, consider attending our Virtual Experience! 
  • Virtual Experience
    • Our virtual camp is open to high school students entering any year of high school (910, 11, or 12) in the fall of 2022.
    • No minimum requirements for the virtual experience. There is limited availability and spaces will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Cost

  • $425 for 4-day/3-night camps
  • $25 for 5-day virtual camp

Registration Deposit

  • The registration deposit for a residential 4-day / 3-night camp is $100 (M²E, CEC, WIE).
  • The registration deposit for the 5-day virtual camp is $25, which is the total cost of the camp.
  • Your registration deposit goes toward total camp fees and is non-refundable (see exceptions in cancellation policy below).

Financial Assistance

A limited amount of special circumstance-based financial assistance are available for the residential camps and will be granted on a need-based basis. Financial assistance is not available for the virtual experience.

Awards are available for partial assistance or full assistance of the camp fees, not including camp deposits. If you need to be considered for financial assistance for the camp deposit, please indicate in the form. Camp deposits are required for all registrants at time of registration. If a special circumstance-based award is not granted, and the student chooses not to attend the camp, the application deposit will be returned.

To be considered for special circumstance-based financial assistance, please complete the financial assistance application. Applications will be reviewed on the 15th of each month of February, March, and April, and awards will be granted for that application period by the last business day of the month.

Before You Register

Prior to registering, please have the following available:

  • Student’s GPA (for residential experiences)
  • Student's T-shirt size (short sleeve, standard fit)
  • Method of payment for deposit – credit card
  • Both parent and student non-school email

Registration Deadlines

  • Registration deadline for residential 4-day camps (M²E, CEC, WIE) is May 25th or sooner if camp reaches capacity.
  • Registration deadline for the 5-day virtual camp is June 17th or sooner if camp reaches capacity.
  • Registration is available and is completed via online form. If you cannot register online, please contact us at 937-229-5080 or engineeringcamps@udayton.edu.

Residential camps have limited capacity and will fill on a first come, first serve basis.

After You Register

  • You will receive an automated reply confirming your registration.
  • You will receive an email notification within a few business days with instructions to complete your registration paperwork and final payment (if applicable) for the camp in which you have applied. This email regarding Summer Engineering Experiences at UD will come from engineeringcamps@udayton.edu.
  • If you requested financial assistance, you will hear back by the end of the application period that you applied in.
    • On or before February 15, awards will be granted by February 28.
    • On or before March 15, awards will be granted by March 31.
    • On or before April 15, awards will be granted by April 29.
    • After April 15, remaining awards will be granted by camp registration deadline.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made on or before May 1, 2022, are refundable, minus the application deposit. Application deposits are non-refundable at any time with the only exception being that a student was not admitted into the camp. In this case, a full refund will be provided.

Disability Event Statement

The University of Dayton strives to provide equal and easy access to programs and services for individuals with disabilities. Individuals requiring accommodations to attend the Summer Engineering Experiences at the University of Dayton are encouraged to contact the Office of Learning Resources with their request by June 1 in order to ensure adequate processing time. If the event is held multiple times, the University reserves the right to provide accommodations for select instances.

Students must be able to self-medicate their own medication as well as manage their own medical conditions.
