WEP Overnight for Female Seniors Admitted to UD

WEP Overnight Program (immediately following the Admitted Student Day)

During this eventyour hosts will be first-year engineering students and staff from the University of Dayton Women in Engineering Program (WEP). After you spend the day learning about your academic experience in the School of Engineering Admitted Student Day, join us and learn more about the University engineering student experience outside of the classroom. 

Student Schedule

FRIDAY EVENING

4:30 – 5 p.m. – Check-in – RecPlex (Parents depart after check-in.)
5 – 6 p.m. – Dinner and games
6 – 7 p.m. – Dessert on the Women in Science and Engineering Integrated Learning Living Community (WISE ILLC) floor (first-year residence hall)
7 – 8 p.m. – Design your UD experience 
9 p.m. – 12 midnight – RecPlex Activities & Movie

SATURDAY MORNING

8 – 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast
8:30 – 9 a.m. – Parent pickup from RecPlex

Parent Programming

There is no parent programming with this overnight. Parents need to find their own accommodations for the overnight. Click here to go to a list of hotels in the vicinity.

Registration

  • Students can register for the Overnight Visit Program in their Admission Portal.
  • All students, regardless of age, who will attend the Overnight Visit Program must complete an overnight visit release form.
  • If you have questions, or need special accommodations, please call 937-229-5080.

What to Pack

  • Your own clothing (including gym clothes for our Friday evening activities in the RecPlex). Casual weather appropriate clothes are adequate for the Overnight programming.
  • Toiletries.
  • A towel for the showers. Showers will be available in the morning, but you must bring your own towel. Some students prefer to bring shower shoes.
  • Bedding (including a pillow, blanket, sleeping bag and any other bedding needs you may find necessary). You will be sleeping on the floor of our recreational facility. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat, air mattress or something soft to place under your sleeping bag.
  • Lockers will be available if you would like to secure your belongings. Please bring your own lock.

Directions & Parking

ADMITTED STUDENT EVENT

Follow the instructions included in your Admitted Student Event email to park at the U-1 lot near the Dayton Marriott. Leave your luggage in the car and take the shuttle to main campus.

AFTER the Admitted student event

After the Admitted Student Event, take the shuttle back to your car in the U-1 lot. Move your car to the C-lot following these directions:

  • Turn right onto River Park Dr.
  • 0.3 mi Turn left onto OH-48 / S Main St.
  • .1 mi Turn right onto E Stewart St continue on Stewart street until intersection with Brown Street (traffic light).
  • Turn right on Brown Street and follow to Irving Ave. (You will see Ben and Jerry’s on the left).
  • Turn left onto Irving Ave.
  • Follow Irving Ave. to enter campus via Evanston Street.
  • Turn left onto Evanston Street.
  • Follow Evanston to Lot C on the left where you will see a small beige parking attendant booth. (This lot is where you will load and unload).
  • You do not need to stop at the parking booth after 4:30 p.m. on Friday or on Saturday. HOWEVER, if you arrive before that time you will need to identify that you are here for the event and obtain a pass. There is no charge for this, but you will receive a ticket if you park without the pass before 4:30 p.m.

From 4:30-5 p.m. on Friday, you will be dropping off your daughter and luggage at the RecPlex (#4 on map). On Saturday, you will be picking up at the same location at 8:30-9 a.m. Both accessible via the “C” lot.
