• Traditional Classroom: Live courses offered in a time-honored classroom setting, three semesters per year, at times compatible with the typical workday.
• Simulcast Classroom: Live classroom experience simultaneously shared over the Internet via web conferencing. 

The traditional classroom is ideal for students who prefer the familiar face-to-face learning environment. For the convenience of working professionals, nearly all classroom-based courses are scheduled to meet twice weekly over the lunch hour (Eastern time zone) or in the late afternoon or evening. 

Within the simulcast environment, most of our live, traditional classes are simultaneously broadcast over the Internet. This enables students who might be unable to attend classes on campus to nonetheless participate in real time via audio, video and chat.  And all simulcast courses are also recorded, enabling both on-campus and Internet-based students the ability to playback classroom sessions at their convenience.

*Regretfully, as the result of United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) regulations, international students attending the University of Dayton on F-1 or J-1 visas are limited to completing their degree program within the traditional classroom environment.

EXPECTATIONS

Although the simulcast offers flexibility, it still requires the same amount of work and time as the traditional classroom experience. We typically expect students to spend an average of ten to twelve hours per week on a three-credit hour course offered over a 16-week semester. This will vary from week to week and will depend on your learning and studying style as well.

Your interactions with faculty depend on the specific course but generally, regardless of the mode of delivery, you should generally be able to interact with your instructors by phone, email, live interactive sessions or online discussion forums.
