Admission Information
All master applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited program in engineering, physics, chemistry, applied mathematics or other appropriate fields. A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
All doctoral applicants must have a master’s degree from an accredited program in engineering, physics, chemistry, applied mathematics or other appropriate fields. A cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 is required on a 4.0 scale. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Undergraduate students applying to the Bachelor's Plus Master's Program must meet all requirements outlined by the School of Engineering.
Admission Requirements
- Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted directly from the colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing.
- Three letters of recommendation from professors or employers.
- A resume.
- Results from the GRE are not required. Candidates can submit a score to support their application.
International students have additional requirements.
Assistantships
The EOP department has a number of research assistantships (RA) and teaching assistantships (TA), which cover tuition costs and a stipend, and are competitively awarded based on academic performance and experience. Students can also participate in industry-sponsored internships. Please inquire with Dr. Andrew Sarangan, department chair, for more information.

Application Deadlines
There are no formal deadlines for applications. Students must be able to attend classes at the beginning of each semester. The inability to do so may result in a deferral of your start term. Please contact the department chair if you have questions.
