Office of Student Success

Flowcharts are used to track academic progress and to assist in determining courses for registration.

Students have the opportunity to explore areas of interest through minors and concentrations, which may be within their field of study or subjects that are outside of engineering that a student is passionate about.
- View the complete list of engineering minors.
- Engineering concentrations can be found in UD's catalog under the specific major that houses the concentration. For example, the aerospace concentration can be found in the mechanical engineering section of UD's catalog.
- View the complete list of all minors available at UD.
To declare a minor or concentration, students should meet with their academic adviser and complete the appropriate form. Visit our School of Engineering site on Porches for forms, policies and processes.
OSS Facilitated Courses
Introduction to the University Experience Course for Engineers (EGR 102)
Our staff facilitates Introduction to the University Experience (EGR 102) course offered in the fall semester for all incoming engineering and engineering technology students. The seminar is an Introduction to the University of Dayton as well as the School of Engineering. This includes an introduction to the engineering curriculum, as well as an exploration of career options in all engineering disciplines, which helps students to maximize their career and educational opportunities.
Enrichment Workshop I & II (EGR 150 and EGR 151)
Our staff coordinates Enrichment Workshops offered in the fall (EGR 150) and spring (EGR 151) semesters, which are required for first-year students and are facilitated by upper-class engineering students. You'll work in small groups to build community and ensure that you master the concepts of calculus, physics and chemistry. Students not only learn to work collaboratively but also gain access to the wisdom of the upper-class students.
