What is NACME?

The National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME), founded in 1974, has a mission to enrich society with an American workforce that champions diversity in STEM by increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in engineering and computer science.

NACME partners with universities to provide scholarships, resources and opportunities for high-achieving college students pursuing careers in engineering and computer science. The University of Dayton is excited to enhance the experience of our students as a new institutional partner of NACME.

Why should I apply?

Engineering students who are actively engaged in the UD Multi-Ethnic Engineers Program (MEP) have the opportunity to apply to become NACME scholars, where they get access to:

  • $5,000 per year in scholarships*
  • Virtual bridge program
  • Bootcamps
  • Externships and internships with NACME Corporate Partners
  • Workshops and webinars
  • Professional speaker series
  • Mini-courses and certifications

*Students selected as NACME scholars will receive a total scholarship award of $5,000 from the MEP, $2,500 more than the max MEP scholarship available.
