CMC services for SEHS students

  • Teaching aids, posters, models, kits, puppets: CMC staff members can help you discover just the right extras to enhance your lessons. View available items on the CMC's Pinterest page >>
  • Anatomical models: Special items are available for Health and Sport Science students (2-day checkout) and Physical Therapy students (*special collection coming Spring 2020*, for use in CMC only). A small number of older anatomical models are available for students of all majors (3-week checkout).
  • Diverse collection of award-winning children’s literature: 3-week loan for undergraduate students; 8- week loan for graduate students. Items can be renewed.
  • Educational DVDs and CDs: Interesting ideas by everyone from Bill Nye to Malala, and topics ranging from early childhood development to the Dust Bowl. There are also a few popular films based on children’s books.
  • Finding aids: The CMC provides book lists on its Pinterest page, and through other book-finding tools.
  • Makerspace (featuring Ellison die cut machine, laminator, and comb binder): Bring your own paper for the die cuts or use paper from the CMC’s supply. Fees apply for laminator sheets; all other services are free.
  • Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) study guides: CMC staff members can help locate which tests you need, and direct you to other study sources if the test study book you need is checked out. 1-week loan.
  • Printing/copying/scanning: Print from any of the CMC’s computer workstations. Cost is $0.05 per page; payment with FlyerCard only. Scanning is free.
  • Large-format (poster) printing: The CMC's large-format printer can print on a paper roll or single sheets using print-ready files from your USB flash drive. Cost is $20 per poster; payment with FlyerCard only.
  • Professional literature and journals: Books on pedagogy, content areas, and special topics in education can be checked out. The CMC’s small, but targeted, collection of print journals cannot be checked out, but articles can be scanned or copied on machines available at the CMC.
  • Reference service: CMC staff can help locate reading material and help navigate websites.
  • Reserve service: CMC staff can place reserves on items that are currently checked out. Staff can also help locate copies in other libraries.
  • Standardized tests: Check out test kits (KeyMath, Woodcock Reading Mastery Test, Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test) to practice assessment skills.
  • Swivl robot devices: Use these robot bases with your smart phone or table to film yourself giving a presentation. 1-week loan; user manual included. How does Swivl work? Watch this Swivl video on YouTube >>
  • Enrichment resources available online: The University of Dayton has partnered with to offer online access to enrichment resources for books used in PreK through 12th grade. Type in a book's title to discover lists of resources gathered from around the web, including author websites, book guides, lesson plans, apps, activities and more.
