Career Enhancement Fund

John Schleppi at Dayton Dragons gameThe John R. Schleppi Sport Management Career Enhancement Fund recognizes Dr. Schleppi's contribution and leadership role in the University of Dayton Sport Management program, created in 1986.

Funds are awarded annually to a non-graduating Sport Management student, to be used to attend professional conferences. Attending these types of events offers students the opportunity for networking as they begin looking for jobs after graduation. The winner must demonstrate a desire to enhance his/her education.

A panel of seniors chooses the winner based on the person's ability to explain why a particular conference was selected, and how the student will leverage that experience. The winner receives $1,500; two runners-up receive $1,000 and $500, respectively.
