Chi Sigma Iota

Chi Sigma Iota is the international honor society for students, professional counselors and counselor educators. Its mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.

The University of Dayton has two Chi Sigma Iota chapters (Upsilon Delta & Upsilon Delta Chi). Expand the sections below to learn more:

If you're a Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling student at UD who has completed at least 9 semester hours and has a GPA of 3.5 or higher, you're eligible to join the Upsilon Delta Chapter.

If you're a professional school counselor or clinical counselor in the Columbus or Dayton area, you're also invited to join the Upsilon Delta Chapter.

DeSales Campus students can join the University of Dayton's Upsilon Delta Chi chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. For more information, contact faculty advisor Brenda Gerhardt.


As a member of Chi Sigma Iota, you'll be able to build relationships with students, professionals and faculty members.


The Upsilon Delta chapter of Chi Sigma Iota was established at the University of Dayton in 2007. The chapter was established when community and school counseling students expressed interest in building relationships with one another and faculty outside of the classroom.
